Lana Israel grew up in the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia before immigrating to the U.S. in 1999. Raised in a military family, she developed a strong work ethic and discipline from an early age. In Soviet education, exercise and nutrition were essential pillars of daily life, sparking her lifelong passion for teaching fitness and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Lana’s approach to exercise is holistic, emphasizing risk-benefit analysis and prioritizing common sense over fleeting fitness trends. She believes that movement should be enjoyable, effective, and sustainable—never rigid or clinical. In her classes, humor plays a key role in creating an engaging and supportive environment.

Beyond fitness and nutrition, Lana has a deep love for languages, history, world cultures, Bollywood dance, travel, space exploration, and evolutionary psychology. She brings this broad perspective to her teaching, making health and fitness not just a practice but a way of life.
